The story is told of the Methodist preacher, who, having been told at conference that he was to move, returned to his church to preach his farewell sermon on his last Sunday there. At the end of his sermon, he took his place at the door of the church and bid farewell to his parishioners. He noticed that one poor woman was weeping uncontrollably, obviously in a state of grief at his leaving. "Don't cry, sister," he said in an attempt to comfort the woman.
